Rare and previously-unissued Motown recordings by various artists are featured on a new, 24-track CD compilation due March 30 from Britain’s Ace Records, entitled Baby I’ve Got It! More Motown Girls.

Universal Music has licensed this material to London-based Ace, which has released a number of single-artist albums and various-artists compilations by Motown artists over the past eight years.

Among those featured on Baby I’ve Got It! More Motown Girls are the Marvelettes, Martha & the Vandellas, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and Brenda Holloway – all with two tracks on the set – and Patrice Holloway, Barbara McNair, Yvonne Fair, the Lewis Sisters, Mary Wells and Kim Weston. The recording dates range from 1961-69. None of the tracks has been previously available on compact disc; some were issued as digital downloads on the Motown Unreleased series of compilations from Universal Music.

Notable tracks on this latest set include the first Motown recording by Gladys Knight & the Pips (“In My Heart I Know It’s Right”), the Marvelettes (an early version of their 1962 hit, “Playboy”) and Oma Page (“When Someone’s Good To You,” a Berry Gordy song later recorded by Carolyn Crawford).
