The latest entry in the highly-regarded Motown Unreleased series of digital collections becomes available worldwide September 20.
Sixty tracks from the company’s storied vaults comprise Motown Unreleased 1969, with almost all of its major acts represented, from Stevie Wonder to Diana Ross & the Supremes, from the Temptations to Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, from Marvin Gaye to the Jackson 5.
The collection contains many Motown songs previously unavailable in any form, as well as unheard versions of familiar favourites, such as “For Once In My Life,” “What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted,” “Ask The Lonely” and “I Wish It Would Rain.”
In addition, a wide range of lesser-known acts are part of Motown Unreleased 1969, including the Volumes, Chris Clark, the Stylists, Michael Denton, Terry Johnson and Bobby Taylor. Also, British recording artist Kiki Dee is represented by two tracks from her brief tenure with the company. Motown names better known for their songwriting are represented, too, including Valerie Simpson and Ivy Jo Hunter.
